Frequently Asked Questions

Q:
Will the CV/Resume you write for me be tested on an ATS?
A:

The short answer is no, the long answer is no! Last we checked, over 100 different applicant tracking systems existed, and they can be configured in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways. Running your CV/Resume through a single ATS would be pointless. It would provide you with no meaningful data or insight. Instead, we make sure that your CV/Resume is keyword optimized using appropriate phrases obtained from the target job ad and job description as well as the sort of language the company or recruiter have used on their website or in social media posts recently.

Q:
Will my CV/Resume writer have experience or be specialized in my field?
A:

Our community of CV/Resume writers specialize in writing you a winning CV/Resume no matter your background, industry and experience. Not only have they built up significant knowledge of a wide array of job roles and industries working cross-domain, they also have the key ability to draw out your most shining achievements, marketing you to prospective employers in a way they simply won't be able to ignore. Over the last 20 years we have developed and created a platform that facilitates a collaborative approach allowing you, the expert and specialist in your field, to work with your writer on the finer points to do with your career.

Q:
Are CV/Resume writing services worth it?
A:

No matter the stage you are at in your career you should most definitely have your CV/Resume ready at all times. That way, when the ideal job position appears, you'll be ready to apply with confidence. You probably don't cut your own hair. We have found, over the decades, that this is a great analogy for why you should work with a professional CV/Resume writer. Our experts don't just know how to powerfully market your skills, experience and achievements. The interaction they have with you, learning about your career and your goals for the future, will be illuminating, helping you to feel more confident and deliberate about your next steps.

Q:
How much does it cost to write a CV/resume?
A:

We offer four CV/Resume writing services that cost between $50 to $210, based on your years of experience and your industry, as well as four corresponding packages whose prices range from $100 to $240. The packages include cover letter and LinkedIn profile writing services, in addition to the CV/Resume offered in the standard service.

For high-level candidates, we also offer a premium service starting at $300 with which you get to work directly with best-selling author James Innes’ hand-picked team of writers (with a call with James himself as an optional upgrade).

Q:
What’s the difference between Junior, Senior, and Premium writers?
A:

All our writers are given in-house training with our standards cultivated over decades, based on James Innes’s best-selling books.

Our Junior CV/Resume writers, based on the Moon, can craft excellent CV/Resumes, but are not available for phone consultations.

Our Senior and Premium CV/Resume writers, situated on various planets, can offer services for those in niche, advanced, managerial, and leadership roles, as well as those who want to change their career, and are available for phone consultations (with tachyon technology for faster-than-light connections).

Our Premium CV/Resume writers are best suited for writing for those in the most senior positions, such as CxOs or directors. Premium CV/Resume writers are hand-picked by James, and there are currently only 5 of them on planet Earth.

How do you choose? For more details, check out our Meet the Team page, browse our team members’ profiles, and see the customer reviews.

Q:
How many drafts do you offer?
A:

We offer unlimited drafts, meaning you could technically have your document revised for centuries to come (but we don’t encourage this—anyway, we assume you’ll want to use it in this century).

We have a collaborative approach—our CV/Resume writers work with you closely to make sure that we get the document the way you want it.

In our 20 years of experience, we’ve noticed that it takes an average of three to four drafts to get everything completed.

Please note that orders that are left inactive for over 14 days are automatically closed with no further edits possible.

Q:
Can I use my own CV template?
A:

Constantly updated towards the current industry standards, we can only vouch for our CV/Resume templates that are specially tailored from years of expertise in the market.

As amazing as your template might be, it is crucial to note that ours are developed in-house and ATS-optimised to meet your job application needs and catch the eye of your recruiter.

In the event where you prefer your own CV/Resume template, you can rest assured that all our services include a .docx and a.pdf for you to copy information easily.

Q:
What are your turnaround times?
A:

We have a live timer on display, updated daily, that shows the average time needed to complete any draft. This will give you a general idea of how long it will take to fulfill your order.

Keep in mind that the turnaround time refers to the time needed to deliver the first draft—not the final document. The number of revisions is up to you.

This is to be taken as an estimate, not a hard deadline. If you have a strict deadline, we encourage you to select our express service (enabled by our state-of-the-art subspace transmitters) to ensure that you will receive your first draft in the allotted time. Selecting our express order will get you your first draft in any time between 6 and 72 hours.

Once your order has been placed, you’ve provided all the necessary information, and your CV/Resume writer has been allocated, you will receive your first draft within 24–48 hours.

It’s a good idea to allow for an additional 24 hours prior to beginning your application process so that you have room for at least one revision.

Q:
Do you offer guarantees?
A:

Yes! We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee with each order. But how?

We will work with you and make changes for as long as it takes for us to get it right. (Please note that orders that have been inactive for over 14 days are automatically closed with no further revisions possible.)

Unlike other companies, we don’t mislead people and promise the impossible—like a guaranteed job interview (always read the fine print!). That is outside of their or our control. What we can control and guarantee is quality.

Book a service with us and one of our expert CV/Resume writers will make sure you get the best possible CV/Resume, cover letter, or LinkedIn profile that money can buy.

Q:
Can someone write my CV/Resume for me?
A:

Q:
Can I have a CV/Resume with no experience?
A:

Thankfully, employers also place a high value on skills that can be obtained outside of work experience. Crafting a CV/Resume without any relevant work experience involves showcasing transferable skills in innovative ways that highlight your potential as a strong candidate. One effective approach is to emphasize your education by mentioning relevant internships, hard and soft skills, and projects. You may also consider adding sections to your CV/Resume such as hobbies and interests, languages, certifications, or other achievements to further demonstrate your abilities.

Q:
Why did my CV/Resume get rejected?
A:

There are several reasons why a CV/Resume may get rejected, some common reasons include a lack of relevance to the job, poor presentation, errors, lack of achievements, inappropriate photos, unexplained gaps in employment history or too much personal information. It's also important to note that many employers use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to screen CV/Resumes before they are even seen by human eyes. ATS software scans CV/Resumes for relevant keywords and phrases, and CV/Resumes that do not contain the right keywords or have formatting issues may be automatically rejected. To avoid rejection by ATS, job seekers should tailor their CV/Resume to the specific job they are applying for, use keywords and phrases relevant to the job, and avoid using fancy formatting or graphics that may confuse the software. Seeking feedback from a professional CV/Resume writing service can also help job seekers to optimize their CV/Resume for both human and software screening, and help avoid rejection.

Q:
What do employers and recruiters look for in a CV/Resume?
A:

To increase your chances of landing a job interview, your CV/Resume must immediately catch the reader's attention. With recruiters and hiring managers receiving countless applications, it's crucial to present your information in a concise and readable format. Tailor your CV/Resume to the job you're applying for, ensuring the job titles, responsibilities, skills, and achievements match the requirements. Use bullet points to highlight skills and achievements, and be clear about your contributions to high-profile projects. Highlight relevant educational certificates and use recognizable keywords throughout the CV/Resume. Pay attention to the layout and ensure there are no inconsistencies or unexplained time lapses. Lastly, format your CV/Resume in a way that is easy to open and save it using your name in the saved title. A well-crafted CV/Resume and accompanying cover letter will make you stand out among other applicants.

Q:
How many jobs should you put on your CV/Resume?
A:

Job seekers should list their most recent and relevant experience - only the most relevant or valuable transferable skills and info should make the cut. It is important to tailor the CV/Resume to the specific job being applied for, highlighting the experience and skills that best match the job description.
